Historically Underutilized Business Program

The District seeks to increase the pool of qualified firms competing for contracts by providing small and local firms, and historically underutilized businesses (HUBs) with information and access to compete for business opportunities with the District. The District also seeks to provide referral services to technical assistance, certification, financial, bonding and insurance services that promote the long-term competitive capacity of such firms.

The Fort Worth HUB program was approved in October 2007 by the Fort Worth ISD Board of Trustees. Policy CH (Local)

Objectives:

  • To increase the pool of qualified HUB firms.
  • To maximize HUB opportunities within the District.
  • To ensure contract compliance in the award and administration of contracts.
  • To implement the HUB program and policy in all facets of the District’s procurement activities.
  • To foster and advocate the benefits and importance of HUB utilization within the District and in the Dallas / Fort Worth Communities.
