We are looking forward to sharing an exciting and productive 2008-2009 school year with you.
As we enter into this new school year, you will find that over the summer many departments have been working “over-time” to provide you with the most accessible resources and tools available. Updates to professional development access (Avatar), Curriculum Framework content and functionality (CF) and other enhanced technology upgrades will soon be available.
The new professional development system, Avatar, incorporates the following features:
- Descriptive course catalog
- Automated registration confirmation
- Automated waiting lists
- Professional Development transcripts
- Paperless certificates (ready to print)
The new Curriculum Frameworks offer the following enhanced functions and features:
- Narrative module headings to aid in summarizing and identifying lessons
- Progress Check Products to assist in measuring a student’s skill or proficiency each six week grading period
- TEKS and Standard’s Markers (IRA’s) allow teachers to identify standards as the are Introduced, Reviewed, or Assessed
- District Calendar, Lesson Planer, student profiles, and increased functionality through “split screens,” a field specific content search engine, and automated lesson finder.
- Online tutorial detailing tabs, navigation bars, and tool access
