FWISD "Back to School Guide" Available this weekend

Fort Worth – With the start of the new school just a few weeks away, Fort Worth ISD parents and students are sure to have lots of questions. Most of those questions will be answered in a six page, full color special insert in local newspapers this weekend.

The “Back to School Guide” will be delivered in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on Friday. The Spanish version will be delivered in the Saturday editions of Diario La Estrella. Additional copies will be available at local school campuses.

Designed to include brief historical notes as well as current information, the “Back to School Guide” provides families and students with answers to questions that always accompany the start of a new school year.

Included in this year’s Guide are the District calendar, bus schedules, lunch and breakfast information, curriculum frameworks, Dress Code updates, classroom supply lists and important phone numbers. Additionally, pertinent facts about the registration, vaccinations, the Board of Education, Peak school information and helpful suggestions for parental planning of a successful school year are also included.

“Every day, every hour of classroom instruction counts toward shaping your child’s future,” said Melody Johnson, Superintendent of the Fort Worth ISD. “That is why we are emphasizing the need to be prepared for learning on the very first day and every day.”

Much of the information contained in the “Back to School Guide” is also available on the District’s Web site, www.fwisd.org.
